One photograph by the Georgian-Armenian pioneer photographer Vladimir Barkanov, with his studio stamp on the back of the print. One picture from the Studio Orlay de Karwa with its stamp on the verso of the print. Four photographs by Dimitri Ermakov with embossed seal and inventory numbers (80, 207, 168, and 25). Images include: statues and art crafts from the Museum of Gizah; Egyptian antiquities (pyramids, temples, hieroglyphics); Islamic architectures in Cairo (tombs, the Citadel, mosques and mashrabiyas); views of the streets of Cairo (hotels and bazaars); staged portraits of local people (artisans, women, peasants and musicians); the Nile river with traditional boats and ports.
