Show moreAmateur photograph albums of a British Royal Air Force officer in Egypt in the aftermath of WWII. The compiler appears to have been based first at the Royal Air Force station of El Gedida between 1946 and 1947 at Heliopolis and subsequently, to the Deversoir a Royal Air Force Base, near Ismailia from 1947 and 1948. The first album documents the activities and the participants to the Fellowship Groups' rallies and to Sunday Schools of the stations' churches. The second album has views of the city of Cairo (mainly streets, monuments, and the Nile river). Title and date from item. Residual part of the first album title "Album presented by mothers of Sunday school children at R.A.F. Station Deversoir New Year 1948 while pianist to Sunday school." Photographs have standard commercial snapshots size (6 x 8 cm). The first album has scuffed leather covers, the second and larger album is thin and black, tied with a cord and with most pages blank.
