    <abstract type="Summary">Photographs of sites excavations in Damascus. Images were produced by photographers of the archaeological mission created under the French Mandate in Syria by the French Institute of Archeology and Islamic Arts of Damascus. Pictures include panels with Umayyad decorations amidst floral motives and Kufic scripts, Ottoman tombs and Mihrabs as well as excavations of Byzantine and Roman remnants between the two city gates of Bab Tuma and Bab Sharqi.</abstract>
