Renard on front paste-down. First edition of one of the rarest of Champier's early medical works, published between 1509 and 1515 in Lyons and unknown to Allut (Etude Biographique & Bibliographique sur Symphorien Champier, Lyons, 1859). Champier, physician, surgeon, humanist and chronicler, wrote many and various books, amongst them the first important history of medicine, De medicinae claris scriptoribus in quinque partibus tractatus (Lyons, 1506).
