The collection, probably the work of a Venetian artist who travelled to Turkey during the reign of Sultan Murad III (r. 1574 – 1595), includes a portrait of the Sultan and as well as portraits of knights, soldiers, Janissaries, servants, prisoners, pilgrims, women, doctors, dervishes and other religious figures.
