Item. Thomas Lowell took this photo of Lawrence in Jerusalem, probably in 1918, when he was working as war correspondent in Palestine, during World War I. After the war, he launched the “Lawrence of Arabia” legend, using many images and films he realized when he was following T.E. Lawrence and the Arab forces.
