The photograph shows the outdoor of a cafe. In the foreground a fruit cart. As the author of the postcard mentions in his text, the actual name of the street is visible in the picture "شارع ظهر الجمال, Sharia Zahir Gammal"., Title from item, date devised by Library staff. The photograph is titled and numbered 67 in the series "Egyptian types and scenes". English title title on the front and original French title on the back. Written on the back of the card: "Tel El Kebir, Egypt, Feb. 1916. A typical Egyptian scene. These native cafes are all over the place. They sit outside and drink smoke (often "hookahs") and play dominos and one or two similar games. Note the name of the street - in Arabic and English.
