    <note>Beside the map of the Suez Canal, at the top and at the bottom lines, the print is framed with photographic medallions, portraying personalities such as Ferdinand de Lesseps, Ismail Pacha, Mehmet Ali, Said Pacha and His Highness Tewfik Pacha. Decorations also include views of the Canal and of Port Said interspersed with portraits  of Orientalist types, like Arab women and men in typical costumes and poses.</note>
