A large scale topographic map of Matrah and Maskat (modern Muttrah and Muscat) made by F.S. Weller, a Fellow of the Royal Geographic Society to accompany a paper by Captain Arthur William Stiffe. Stiffe was the co-author of the famous "Persian Gulf Pilot" books for navigating the Gulf. Topography is indicated by contour lines though no information as to their height is given. Settled areas are indicated by grey shading. Palm trees indicated agricultural areas around the settlements. The map also shows important pathways and passes.
