Photograph album showing women from Middle Eastern countries compiled in the later 19th century, probably by wealthy tourists. Photographs, produced by famous studios such as Bonfils, Brothers Zangaki, Peridis and Georgiladakis, show Muslim women in the traditional costumes of Egypt, Turkey, Syria, Lebanon, Sudan and other parts of the Ottoman Empire. There are also a few portraits of women representing religious minorities, such as the Jewish and Druze communities.
