Collection. Collection of plates from "Monuments arabes d’Égypte, de Syrie et d’Asie-Mineure dessinés et mesurés de 1842 à 1845" (19), printed in Paris by Lemercier for the author and A. Hauser in 1846, and from "Monuments et Paysages de l’Orient" (5), printed in Paris by Lemercier in 1851. In 1842, Girault de Prangey went on a trip to study in the Middle East; his two-year tour led him to Greece, Turkey, Lebanon, Syria, Lebanon, Palestine and Egypt. He took daguerreotypes of monuments and landscapes and when he returned to France in 1845 he used some of his plates for the illustrations of the above-mentioned works.
