The defeat of Rui Freire de Andrade effectively ended Portuguese power in the Arabian Gulf. This book is a most valuable source for the siege of Ormuz and operations in the Arabian Gulf in 1619-23 and contains extracts from contemporary documents relating to this campaign. - Several contemporary underlinings.
