This map "Golfe Arabique ou Mer Rouge" by Jean Baptiste Bourguignon d'Anville, published in Paris in 1765. This map shows settlements, shoals and banks, anchorages, roads, etc. Relief shown pictorially; depths by soundings in inset maps. This is also a very large copperplate map of the Red Sea showing exact detail of shorelines and islands from Suez to the southern tip of Yemen. Tributaries, islands, and cities are named., Four insets show "Port de Giddah", "Suakem", Matzua et Arkiko", and "Al Babo". Good impression printed on sturdy double-layer paper with full margins.
