Show moreCollection of photographs issued by the Iraqi Development Board recording various subjects related to the modernization of the country, such as King Faisal II planting the first tree of a modern nursery, builders working to solve the housing crisis, a new cement factory at Sarchinar, the Dukan Dam, a modern bridge at Al-Hindiya, and the Warrar Regulator at Habbaniya on the Euphrates between Ramadi and Fallujah. The Iraqi Development Board embarked on its first program between 1951 and 1956 and initiated its second five-years program in 1955-1959. In March 1957, on the occasion of the Second Development Week, the board published a pamphlet summarizing the progress of the first phase.
