The original painting is likely to be the work of the German painter Rudolf Hellgrewe (1860 – 1935). The illustration and the poster are related to the Middle East section of the book by Dr Alwin Wünsche (1866-1933) "Land und Leben. Geographische Wandbilder in künstlerischer Ausführung".
