SMITH & SON, 63 CHARING CROSS, made up of 12 hand-coloured gores, the equatorial graduated in degrees 0°-180°-0° and hours XII-I-XII, the ecliptic graduated in days of the houses of the Zodiac with symbols, an ungraduated Greenwich meridian, analemma in the Pacific, ocean currents and Cook's voyages shown, some countries outlined in colour (the British Empire in red), partial coast of Antarctica delineated with Mt. Erebus An active vol 12,400 ft high (some staining and minor manuscript repair), semi-circular meridian graduated 90-0-90, on a turned mahogany column with 'Y'-shaped stand and three bun feet. 16in.
